Hi,

I am new to this site and very interested in the discussion. I will try to shed some light on some gray area from a Christian point of view.

I will like only to comment and share on this particular excerpt from this article and leave the rest of the content to other discusssion.

Christianity tries to induce this love by the doctrine (not taught by Jesus) that God sacrificed His own son, Jesus and that Jesus was willing to sacrifice his life for the love of man. This also induces a guilt feeling in that the death of Jesus was the result of the sins which are to be found in all men."

emphasis mine.

This was not introduced by Christian, it was stated in the Old Testament (OT), prophecised by in the Bible and the OT prophets, the first prophecy was even made at the time of Adam and Eve.
Read http://biblia.com/jesusbible/prophecies.htm, Prophecies of the Old Testament Fulfilled in Jesus Christ.

There are many other article on the net that talks about this. Just google "Old testament prophecies fulfilled by Christ".

Really hope you share this on your site.

Thanks!

warmest regards,
kuancheen

hmmm... it is interesting to to know what brought you back to Islam
you mentioned about how reading the Quran and following Muhammad's teaching brought you closer to Allah.
will be interesting to know whether there was a comfort in reading the Bible? and if not why

well....not sure whether this post was compiled or you really still read this so that you can still respond ;)

Hi,

Thanks for the sharing, let me humbly attempt try to share and clarify some misconceptions :)

In Christianity, our prayers tended to be "gimme prayers." "God, give me this…God give me that."

yups, that is what most 'Christians' are praying for! but that is not how God ask us to pray. Jesus said in Matthew about prayer.
5"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 6But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
9"This, then, is how you should pray:
    " 'Our Father in heaven,
    hallowed be your name,
   10your kingdom come,
   your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
11Give us today our daily bread.
   12Forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.'
14For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Matthew 6:5-15 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/book_id=47&chapter=6&version=31&context=chapter)

... whereas, in typical Christian Western Culture at the time (600s CE), women were basically viewed as their father’s property–to marry as he saw fit.

well i can only say this is a CULTURE and NOT a biblical teaching! Marriage is a union arranged by God Himself and not us human or our parents for that matter. but we are asked to honour ovcer parents but not before God

... the Qur’an gives women more rights than the Bible does–in print.

hmmm... all i can say is ... maybe just maybe it is there are mocuh more freedom that it does not need to be speel out in the bible?

cheers,
